{"id":1946,"date":"2014-06-11T00:56:35","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T22:56:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/birgit-kolar.es\/sin-categorizar\/maestro-rafael-fruehbeck-de-burgos\/"},"modified":"2014-06-11T00:56:35","modified_gmt":"2014-06-10T22:56:35","slug":"maestro-rafael-fruehbeck-de-burgos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/birgit-kolar.es\/en\/sin-categorizar\/maestro-rafael-fruehbeck-de-burgos\/","title":{"rendered":"Maestro Rafael Fr\u00fchbeck de Burgos"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"entry-media\">Sad news prompts me to leave this entry in my blog today&#8230;<\/figure>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div>\n<div>Maestro Rafael Fr\u00fchbeck de Burgos went home this morning.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Maestro Fr\u00fchbeck de Burgos was my first &#8220;boss&#8221; with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra from 1994-1996.<\/div>\n<div>He was a very fair person who knowingly kept a respectful distance from each of his musicians. He made no distinctions, no exceptions &#8211; he treated everyone the same! <\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I would like to share a little anecdote that was a key experience for me in my professional development.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It was my first concert as first concertmaster, Rafael Fr\u00fchbeck de Burgos conducting the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the Vienna Konzerthaus.<\/div>\n<div>The program includes &#8220;The Tricorn&#8221; by de Falla.<\/div>\n<div>There was a slight inconsistency in the first violins and I tried my best to follow the conductor to compensate for this minimal &#8220;unevenness&#8221;&#8230; But I didn&#8217;t succeed&#8230;<\/div>\n<div>After the concert &#8211; as it should be &#8211; I went to Maestro&#8217;s room to thank him and apologize for the little incident.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Briefly and succinctly, as was his way, he said the following: Ms. Kolar, I&#8217;ll tell you something &#8211; never play with the conductor, always play with the group!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>My dear readers, you have no idea how much of a journey the revered, dear maestro has saved me!<\/div>\n<div>No laborious learning from critical experiences, but a striking reference, the depth and clarity of which still accompanies me today!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After many years, we met again at more or less regular intervals: in Bergen, in Seville and my last encounter with him was &#8220;his&#8221; Carmina Burana with the Orquesta Nacional Espa\u00f1a in Madrid before Christmas.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-723 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/birgit-kolar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/IMG_6390-1024x576.png\" alt=\"IMG_6390\" width=\"805\" height=\"452\">Following this concert, he was honored on the occasion of his eightieth birthday.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Thank you Maestro Fr\u00fchbeck de Burgos!
